Nutra Bien
In 1984 NutraBien Foods S.A. born in Boston,U.S.A. when Isabella Jaras was cooking and sold all kinds of muffins in the different university cafeterias of the city, while her husband was studying at M.I.T. When back to Chile in 1986, she decided to continue with her routine, this time delivering cakes around the different university cafeterias. In 1989 Arturo, her brother who lived in U.S.A., would come to Chile for a year. He and his American wife, Julie, would help Isabella to develop new products and give their business some shape. Julie and Isabella made their products in Isabella´s own kitchen and Arturo delivered. It was then they together, they worked on brownie, a product causing sensational answer among their clients, and allowing the business to take off. They also created the name NutraBien to accompany their products they were cooking.
In 1990 Arturo and Julie return to U.S.A. and Isabella goes on her own. She worked on the goods all the day, and distributed them the following day. Many stories could be told about it; one of them was when her car broke down just as she was leaving to deliver at 6 am in the morning, and she had nothing to take her products. It was then that a neighbour lent her a pick up. In 1992, Patricio, her younger brother, who lived in U.S.A., decided to return to Chile. After several years working for Colgate Palmolive, Patricio saw great future in what his sister has started, and he offered to become her partner. Patricio developed whole strategy of growth and investment for which Isabella rapidly had to adjust her production. It was one thing to make 1,000 cakes, but was quite a different is to cook 100,000. So here this small factory is born in the back yard of the family house.
Eight years later, NutraBien Foods is a company of undeniable prestige and preference in the market. Its products are distributed from Arica to Punta Arenas, and it has also a peak factory designed and built according to European standards.
